C-DOT shall be providing guidance and expertise to those who seek assistance of the Government on developing an effective intellectual property strategy aligned with the R&D and business goals, IP Valuation, Licensing and commercialization of IPRs , standard essential patents, handling litigation of intellectual property infringements, thorough analysis and assessment of techno-legal and business information in related IP documents, existing MoUs, NDAs and other agreements.
Standard Essentials Patents (SEPs)
The C-DOT is a premier Research & Development (R&D) institute under Department of Telematics, Government of India and leading Telecom Technology Products & Solutions development to achieve the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The Department of Telecommunications, Government of India has directed C-DOT to frontend IPR management for Indian Technology entities who desire to seek assistance of the Government of India to deal with the issues of Standard Essential Patents (SEPs). Accordingly, C-DOT has been authorised to support Indian Technology companies in the Telecom space to frontend IPRs/SEPs/License Management with domestic and global entities. Interested Companies/Startups/Firms may approach C-DOT to frontend any issues
related to SEPs.
IPR Facilitation Platform
In line with the IPR frontend role assigned by the Department of Telecommunications Government of India, C-DOT is taking various initiatives to increase the IPR portfolio of Indian technology companies and other stakeholders.
- Interaction with academia and industry to raise awareness about IPRs, SEPs, and license management
- Organization of IPR and SEP awareness workshops/conferences
- Development of a web-based knowledge repository on IPR/SEP/license management, inter-alia, containing important academic articles, industry reports, relevant websites, frequently asked questions, and query addressing through the subject matter experts
- Preparation of important IPRs and SEPs database/ repository of 5G and 6G technologies with search facility
