Message of disaster will be received on the phone
New Delhi: One such integrated alert system has been prepared in the country. Through which direct messages can be sent to people's mobiles about the coming disaster like lightning or storm. People will not have to depend on the Meteorological Department or the district administration for this information in time. β’ India is the sixth country in the world to have such a system. β’ You will get information about disasters like lightning, storm According to the information received by 'Hindustan', it will be launched across the country before February. India will be the sixth country after the US, Germany, Italy, Canada and Australia to have such a warning system. Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, executive director of the Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) under the Ministry of Communications, told 'Hindustan' that his department has prepared an alert system based on information technology. With this, the work of giving information related to all disasters like weather, lightning, storm, law and order, fire and epidemics directly to the people of certain areas through SMS and other communication mediums will become very easy. The technology developed by C-DOT was used as a test to send messages during the Corona period. It was ascertained whether the people of the segregation centers are not going out of the area. Successful Trial: SDMA departments of 35 states and union territories of the country have been connected with this technology. The trial of warning people through 75 crore SMS during Amarnath Yatra, floods, storms, riots has been successfully completed. The deadline of February has been given to launch the system.

NDMA & C-DOT to conduct workshop on CAP based Integrated Public Alert System for Disaster Management & Preparedness
C-DOT (Centre for Development of Telematics), the premier R&D centre of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, Government of India and (NDMA) National Disaster Management Authority, Government of India are jointly conducting an All India Workshop centered on Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) based Integrated Alert System -ΰ€Έΰ€ΰ₯ΰ€€ here tomorrow I.e. on 31st August 2022. The workshop aims to provide a platform to the concerned departments and various disaster management agencies across India to discuss their underlying issues and challenges and evolve the technology-based solutions to address these in an effective manner amid insightful discussions by a galaxy of experts and technologists. Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, IAS, Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and Shri K. Rajaraman, IAS, Chairman, Digital Communication Commission and Secretary (Telecom), Government of India will be the Guest of Honour. Various eminent dignitaries and speakers from various Government departments including NDMA, DoT, Indian Railways, Indian Metrological Department (IMD), Central Water Commission (CWC), Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), Defence Geoinformatics Research Establishment (DGRE), Forest Survey of India (FSI), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Disaster Management Authorities (DMA) of 36 States and Union Territories will be attending the workshop and deliberate on various contemporary themes related to Disaster Management and Preparedness.

C-DOT signs agreement with Galore Networks for collaborative development of end-to-end 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) products & solutions
Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) is keen on building robust partnerships with various stakeholders of indigenous 5G ecosystem including local industry and start-ups. C-DOT has continued to lay great emphasis on evolving a well-coordinated collaborative framework that supports multiple 5G partners for healthy competition amongst key 5G players in an output-driven and target-oriented environment. In furtherance of its endeavour to boost indigenous development of 5G, C-DOT and Galore Networks have signed an agreement for collaborative development of end-to-end 5G RAN products & solutions. This collaborative approach based on achieving synergy and harmony amongst multiple ecosystem partners will facilitate the evolution of mutually productive and sustainable alliances. This will act as a catalyst resulting into indigenous design, development, manufacturing and deployment of cost-effective 5G products and solutions. This will bring the technical competencies and complementary strengths of Indian R&D and industry on a single unified platform leading to the creation of indigenous Intellectual Property (IP) assets that can generate new avenues for wider reach and commercialization of home-grown technologies at global level.

Cabinet approves Agreement between India and United Nations on a βWay Finding Applicationβ to be used in the Palais des Nations, United Nations Office at Geneva
The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the proposal for signing of an agreement between the Government of India and the United Nations on a βWay Finding Applicationβ to be used in the Palais des Nations, United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG). Keeping in view the complexity of buildings and huge participation, there was a requirement of a navigational application which can help the visitors and other delegates in finding their way inside the premises while adhering to all security perspectives. The project consists of development deployment and maintenance of a software-based βWay Finding Applicationβ to facilitate navigation in the Palais des Nations premises of UNOG. The application will enable users to find their way from point to point within the 21 floors spread across five buildings of UNOG. The App will work on Android and iOS devices with an internet connection. The development of the App has been entrusted to Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT), an autonomous telecom Research & Development centre of Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India.
